The world of rap and rap music has many established stereotypes. And most rappers that come into the limelight usually have a lot of similarities in their stories and 21 Savage is no different.

21 Savage Bio

Savage’s real name is Shayaa BinAbraham-Joseph. He is of Dominican ethnicity, born on October 22, 1992 to his mother Heather in Lesser, Antilles, in the Caribbean. His family was very large as he grew up with ten siblings: six sisters and four brothers, with whom he got along very well.

Growing up, 21 developed a notorious personality, one that eventually earned him a permanent ban from the DeKalb County School District. The incident that prompted the ban was that he brought a gun to school to scare a child who told him. After that, no school – even one outside the DeKalb school district wanted him. 21 Savage says he never felt good in school, he never felt the motivation to be active and do well.

Somehow, he was forcibly recruited from different schools in the metro Atlanta area, but his problems with school authorities persisted until he was eventually sent to a youth detention center in the Atlanta area. hoped it would help him plot an appeal against his life.

Shayaa Bin, aka 21 Savage has been involved in many serious crimes, ranging from armed robbery to illegal drug dealing to possession of firearms. By now, he had lost all hope for his life to have any meaning, so he focused on being part of the senior executives of his gang, the “Bloods.”

Even the death of one of his brothers, Tay Man,21 after a shooting after a drug-dealing case wasn’t enough for Savage to effect a turnaround. However, in 2013, he finally made the decision to change. He had been involved in an attempted robbery with his best friend and barely escaped life after receiving six gunshot wounds. His best friend wasn’t so lucky.

Shayaa turned to music, her therapy, and her path out of her doomed life. He devastated writing and recording music at Patchwerk Studios. Key!, an Atlanta rapper who loved his sound, introduced him to DJ Plugg, who produced his debut single in November 2014. He would later release his first mixtape, The Slaughter Tape, a 14-track free album in May 2015 21 Savage released two more projects that year. The first was a joint effort with Sonny Digital, titled Free Guwop, in honor of his rap icon and influence, Gucci Mane. The second was his follow-up mixtape, Slaughter King.

XXL magazine named Savage among the members of the “freshman class” in 2016. This greatly boosted his career. His biggest success came a month later, when he released his project, Wild Mode, which was produced by Metro Boomin. It peaked at number 23 on the Billboard 200. The album also produced his first platinum disc, a title titled X which he did with rapper Future.

All of this success brought Epic Records to its doorstep. In January 2017, 21 Savage announced that he had signed with them. He then followed up with the release of his first studio album titled Album Issa. This project opened at number two on the US Billboard 200. The lead single from the album, Bank Account also made it to No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

His next album, Without Warning, a joint effort with producer Metro Boomin and Offset landed at #4 on the US Billboard 200 to largely positive reviews. 21 Savage also earned other achievements such as Fader ‘s cover and a top charting song with Post Malone. He has a like-minded rapper rap group called Slaughter Band. Additionally, he performed his single, X, at the 2016 BET HipHop Awards.
