Bill Gates, American business mogul, investor, computer programmer, author and philanthropist is one of the renowned entrepreneurs in the computer and technology industry whose net worth is now $89.2 billion.

The software giant co-founded the largest computer software company in the world, Microsoft, with Paul Allen. The company officially established on April 4, 1975, with Bill Gates as the CEO.

He stepped down as Microsoft’s CEO in 2008, to concentrate with his charity work through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. A charitable foundation he founded with his wife, Melinda.
With his net worth, the 61-year-old business tycoon is now the world’s second-richest person and United States’ richest person.

Forbes also says that Gates’ net worth briefly topped $100 billion back in 1999, back before the federal antitrust case decision against Microsoft that year and the bursting of the tech bubble in early 2000.

The philanthropist disclosed that he will not gift his children his inheritance over fears that it will “distort their lives”.

Bill Gates has three children, Jennifer Katharine (born in 1996), son Rory John (born in 1999) and daughter Phoebe Adele (born 2002).

He said his three children would not be receiving his ­fortune as it was going to good works instead.
