2018 Budget: Buhari and Osinbajo to spend N1.3bn on trips.

N1.3 billion has been budgeted to be spent on both foreign and local travel expenses of the of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo in 2018.

The travel funds is part of the 2018 Appropriation Bill presented the National Assembly by President Buhari last Wednesday.

The president and his Vice will expend N968.4 m on foreign trips during the year, while their local trips will amount to N334m.

The breakdown of President Buhari’s budget on foreign and local trips includeN751m and N250m respectively, whereas that of VP Osinbajo includes N217m and N84m on his foreign and local trips respectively.

The sum excludes the 82m budgeted for both local and foreign trips in the budget of the State House Headquarters.

In the 2017, President Buhari spent N739m on foreign trips, while Osinbajo used N218m on his travels.

Also,  N238m was expended by Buhari on local trips while his vice spent N88 million on local trips, spending N1. 28 billion on foreign and local trips in total last year.
