When talking about celebrities who are multi-talented and versatile, you can’t end without mentioning Tyson Ritter. The Oklahoma native is a singer/songwriter well known as the lead singer of American alternative rock band The All-American Rejects; Ritter is also a multi-instrumentalist, pianist and bassist for the band. When I said Tyson Ritter was versatile, it wasn’t just a joke, he’s also a well-known model and actor for playing Dane on Amazon Video’s. Betas, Oliver Rome on the NBC series Parenthood and several other movies and TV series including The House Bunny, Preacher, Miss You Already, Lodge 49 , etc.

Ritter was born Tyson Jay Ritter on April 24, 1984 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Tracy Jean Rains and Tim Jay Ritter. Tyson and his siblings (Zack S. Ritter and Bailey Ritter) graduated from Stillwater High School, the same school their mother worked at. His older brother Zack is an endodontist.

Ritter has always been interested in the arts, especially music. He actually met his bandmates in middle school at a party where he was a bouncer. In 1999, while still in high school, Ritter and Nick Wheeler formed a band called The All-American Rejects. The band originally included Jesse Tabish who would later part ways with the band

Nick and Ritter would later include Chris Gaylor (drummer) and Mike Kennerty (backing vocalist) from the band while they (Nick and Ritter) remained the band’s songwriters. Wheeler is the lead composer and Tyson Ritter is the lead lyricist.

In High, the group made a demo simply titled The All-American Rejects. Their self-titled debut studio album. The All-American Rejects was released in 2003 on Dreamworks Records. The album achieved great success and received RIAA platinum certification. The group currently has four studio albums to its credit and has sold over ten million albums and four million singles worldwide. Ritter announced in February 2018 that he was forming his own band and record.

Aside from music, Tyson Ritter has also demonstrated his talent in acting as well. He is well known for playing Dane on Amazon Video Betas, Oliver Rome on NBC series Parenthood and several other movies and TV series like The House Bunny, House Preacher, Miss You Already, Lodge 49 etc. In 2013, he released a solo song “Air” which was featured on Parenthood. He also wrote “Collide,” which was also in the same series.

He appeared as Hipster #1 in the 2014 biographical drama film Love and Mercy. He also played singer Gregg Allman in the biopic Midnight Rider, the film was unfortunately canceled following the death of Sarah Jones (camera assistant).

As far as we know, Tyson Ritter is not gay, at least he hasn’t said so. However, in 2017 his band released a lead single titled Sweating and a second titled Close Your Eyes from their upcoming fifth studio album which might have suggested something.

In the first part of the video story, TysonRitter played Besty – a transvestite who is also a sex worker / He sneaks off to work at night and comes home to his nuclear family very early in the morning. During the day, Besty organizes a family reunion but quickly becomes a little stressful and uncomfortable when he realizes that there is still nail polish on his fingers from the day before.

The video has come under intense scrutiny from the transgender community. Some say it’s disrespectful for a straight, white, cis male to play a transgender woman who chooses sex work and that it’s also dangerous (transgender) women are being attacked and killed at an alarming rate. Others feel that his character Besty perpetuates the stereotype that “men in dresses” are deviants who get their sex fix just by paying customers.

Ritter, however, said the video was only meant to depict the functional identity crisis and the expectations of how people are supposed to be in public places.

Who is his wife?

Ritter is currently married to Georgian-Americanactress and singer Elena Satine. The couple got engaged in April 2013 and walked down the aisle on December 31 of that year.
