BIOGRAPHY
It was at the age of ten that Shannen Doherty made her debut on the small screen in the series Father Murphy , created by Michael Landon . When two years later, the latter was looking for a little girl for his other series, Little House on the Prairie , she was chosen to play Jenny Wilder, a young orphan, throughout season 9.

After filming a few TV films, as well as a mini-series devoted to John Kennedy, she took her real first steps on the big screen in Girls just want to have fun in 1985 in which she starred alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt . She then appeared in several series ( 21 Jump Street , Corky , Supercopter , Les Routes du paradis again with Michael Landon…) where she mainly played secondary roles.

The role of Brenda Walsh in Beverly Hills made her world famous in 1990. Due to permanent conflicts with the other actors, she left the series at the end of season 4. She appeared in The Glandeurs by Kevin Smith , then Aaron Spelling (already producer of Beverly Hills ) (re)contacted her a few years later to play one of the three witches in Charmed . Shannen Doherty then returned to success. But after 3 seasons, no longer getting along with her partner Alyssa Milano, she preferred to leave. In 2004, the production of North Shore relied on the actress to boost the audience of the series… in vain!

Four years later, after having made several television films, she agreed to reprise her role as Brenda Walsh in a sequel to Beverly Hills entitled New Generation , but she only appeared in the first season as the series then focused entirely on the new characters. She then starred for James Franco in Bukowski , which explores the early years of author Charles Bukowski.

In 2015, a month before the release of How to Make a Deal with the Devil in which she plays nothing less than the Devil, she was diagnosed (lately, according to her) with breast cancer. From then on, she publicized her fight against the disease. In 2019, she joined the original cast of Beverly Hills for BH90210 , a reboot of the series, a sort of mix between a mockumentary à la The Office and parody. It tells how actors seek to reboot their successful series of yesteryear. A “meta” project, therefore, unfortunately without Luke Perry , who died shortly before filming. The 6 episodes ordered did not have the desired audience, and FOX canceled the show.

The same year, she appeared in a season 4 episode of Undateable John , a “romantic drama” in which she played a supporting role. In July 2020, it was announced that she would reprise her role as Rene Mosier of Glandeurs in its sequel, Twilight of the Mallrats , again directed by Kevin Smith.
