You probably know Tia and Tamera Mowry, the Olsen twins (Ashley and Mary-Kate), Jon and Dan Heder, and Dylan and Cole Sprouse, who rose to fame together as Hollywood siblings. But did you know that the American film industry has several other famous twins whose counterparts live very far from the spotlight? Rami Malek, the twin brother of Sami Malek, is one such star.

For many years, Rami has been in the limelight due to the nature of his work. A very talented actor, his on-screen performance has not only won him a large following on social media platforms, but also wide media coverage as well as international audiences. Sami, on the other hand, is not one to like the camera. He is known for two things: he is Rami’s twin and a teacher.

The Malek brothers are identical twins. Even though Rami enjoys a bigger share of media and public attention, his brother is also an impressive man. Sami works as a teacher at Joseph Le Conte Middle School, located in Los Angeles.

Sami Malek’s bio

Sami Malek was born to his parents, along with his twin brother, on May 12, 1981. He has American citizenship and Egyptian roots. As for his academic achievements, Sami has yet to share with us the schools he attended and the years he finally graduated from them. As his online profile indicates, his twin brother attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, and then the University of Evansville, Indiana. He graduated in 2003 with a degree in fine arts. It is unknown whether Sami attended the same educational institutions with his famous brother.

If one thing is obvious about Samimon brother, it’s that he loves his job as a teacher and enjoys every moment of it. While people might think the actor is more influential than his twin, the fact remains that both are relevant in their respective careers and we’re happy for them.

Family – Parents and Sister

Sami’s family is made up of his parents, twin brother and older sister. The names of his parents are Nelly Abdelmalek (mother) and Said Malek (father). Both are of Egyptian origin and of the Coptic Orthodox religion. They emigrated to the United States of America many years ago. Said Malek was a tourist guide in Cairo, after which he got into the insurance business. He was born in 1942 and died in 2006. His wife, Nelly, is a renowned accountant.

Middle school teacher Joseph Le Conte has an older sister named Yasmine Malek. A medical doctor, Yasmine is not known like her actor brother. She stays away from the spotlight but is very supportive of her younger brothers’ careers. The latest member of Sami’s family is Rami, the Hollywood star who won three prestigious awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Leading Role in a Drama Series (at age 18) and the Critics’ Choice Award.

Relationship with Rami Malek

Sami and Rami Malek are not just brothers, they are twins although the latter is four minutes older than the former. Although the Malek brothers follow two different paths, they support their respective professions. Despite their demanding jobs, the brothers are often seen attending public events together – they obviously support each other.

Rami took the movie industry by storm in 2004, a year after graduating from the University of Evansville, Indiana. He made his first screen appearance in the 2004 television series Gilmore Girls, in which he played the role of Andy. To date, he has over 17 movies and 10 TV series to his credit, of which Mr. Robot is the most notable.

Besides his Critics’ Choice and the Primetime Emmy Awards, Rami has garnered Screen Actors Guild Award, TCA Award, and Golden Globe nominations. His biggest Hollywood role is playing the fictional character Freddie Mercury, the iconic lead singer of Queen (a music group), in the 2018 Drama/Biography film, Bohemian Rhapsody. Freddie died aged 45 in 1991 of bronchial pneumonia due to AIDS.

Apart from his projects in the film industry, Sami Malek’s twin brother, Rami, plies his trade in the gaming community. His video game credits include Until Dawn (2015), The Legend of Korra (2014) and Halo 2 (2004).
