NBA Career

Reggie Miller was the 11th overall pick by the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the 1987 NBA Draft. He wore jersey No. 31 for the Pacers playing alongside second shooting guard John Long. Miller improved so much that he became a threat to the Pacers. He set a scoring record of 57 points in a game against the Charlotte Hornets in 1992. The record still stands as the Pacers team record to this day; he is the second player behind Michael Jordan who holds a record 64 points in one game.

Miller led the Pacers to a win over ClevelandCavaliers and the Knicks will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. In the Finals, they faced defending champion Michael Jordan’s Bulls in 1998. He also appeared in the Pacers’ first and only NBA Finals in 2000, facing the Los Angeles Lakers led by Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. The Pacers lost 4-2 to the Lakers and Miller finished with an average of 24.3 points.

He played his last game on May 19, 2005 against the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. He received a standing ovation with 15.7 seconds left in the game. Upon retirement, Miller joined TNT as an NBA analyst. He began hosting NBA shows, including NBA coverage, and also responds to Reggie’s Mailbag. Additionally, Miller has appeared as a contributor to The Dan Patrick’s show on ESPN Radio, as well as a co-host on Live with Regis and Kelly.
