Pablo Escobar’s Biography
Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria was a drug lord, narco-terrorist and known criminal who smuggled approximately 80% of the cocaine into the United States of America. He was born on December 1, 1949 in Antioquia, Rionegro in Colombia. Farming was an occupation of Abel de Jesus (his father) and his mother, Hemilda de Los Dolores Gaviria Berrio, was an elementary school teacher until her death in 2016.
Pablo was born into a family of nine and had seven siblings, of whom he was the third. Criminal activity abounded in his youth – he had numerous records of theft and smuggling and was busy removing tombstones in a cemetery and selling them on for money.
He learned most of his trades from Oscar BenelAguirre, who taught him how to act like a street scammer selling contraband, including sham lottery and auto theft. Pablo was given the opportunity to go to school but dropped out of the Universidad Autónoma Latinoamericana in Medellín.

Pablo Escober had big ambitions and in his quest to get rich quick he had set a goal of having $1 million before he hit 22. To achieve this goal, he began working as a smuggler for Alvaro Prieto. By the age of 26, he had $100 million in his bank account. He began distributing cocaine himself and by 1975 was building routes for the cocaine movement in the United States of America. He owned about fifteen airplanes and six helicopters, which were his means of transportation.

Pablo found love with Maria Victoria Henao, who eloped with her when he was 26 and she was only 15. They married in March 1976. Maria’s parents never recognized the union between her and Pablo, their reasons being based on the fact that he had no social life.
Their union was blessed with a boy and a girl – Juan, now known as Sebastian Marroquin, on February 24, 1977 and Manuela on May 25, 1984.

Despite her husband’s criminal activities, Maria always had a good idea of him. In her quest to declare her love for Pablo, she wrote a memoir for him entitled Amando a Pablo, odiando a Escobar, which means Love Pablo, Hate Escobar . After that, her book inspired the movie Loving Pablo made in 2017.
Born in 1961, Maria lived a troubled life after giving birth to her two children with Pablo due to his trials. She ran for her beloved life alongside her children after her husband’s assets were confiscated by the government. To survive and stay in the dark, she started a new life with a new identity somewhere in Argentina. Her name is now María Isabel Santos Caballero.

Juan, now known as Sebastian, has been living with his father’s guilt. He had taken the path of repentance by writing a book about his father’s sins called My Father . He also publicly apologized to all who were victims of his father’s criminal activities.
Despite saying he never wanted anything to do with his late father, he still goes to his graveyard to pay his respects even though he’s hurt.
He studied architecture and currently works as an architect. Sebastian had dabbled in fabric design in 2010 and was mainly into jeans and t-shirt designs. He named the clothing line with his father’s surname – Escobar and his mother’s surname Heano.
Manuel Pablo has remained invisible since her father’s death.
