BIOGRAPHY
Nicholas Rowe is the son of a singer and a member of the British Parliament. After high school, he studied Spanish and acted in plays. At the same time, he quickly became known when, in 1984, he was chosen to play Sherlock Holmes in The Secret of the Pyramid by Barry Levinson . In this film produced by Steven Spielberg and written by Chris Columbus , the famous detective and Watson are confronted with a mysterious sect.

It was then mainly on television that Nicholas Rowe distinguished himself, performing performances with an impressive cadence, but without playing the main roles. Among the TV films and series in which he plays, we can mention The Infinite Worlds of HG Wells (2001), The Fugitives (2005), Princes in the Tower (2005), Da Vinci’s Demons (2013 – 2014), The Crown (2016 ), Riviera (2017 – 2019), The Importance of Being Oscar and Roadkill (2020).

However, he did not completely abandon cinema, even if, here again, the actor did not obtain central roles. Nicholas Rowe thus tastes different genres, ranging from gangster films ( Scams, Crimes and Botany ) to horror ( The Son of Chucky , The Vampires’ Dinner ), including drama ( Nicholas Nickleby , RĂ©mi without family ). In 2011, he even made a cameo in Mr. Holmes by Bill Condon , in which the title role was played by Ian McKellen .
