He then turned to the social sector by studying at Northfield Mount Hermon School , then at the University of Chicago. With his diploma in hand, the young man moved to Washington to start his educational software company.

However, its future is not set in stone. On a whim, he wanted to take acting lessons and he began by acting as an extra in 1999 in Barry Levinson ‘s semi-autobiographical film , Liberty Heights . The same year, he moved up the ranks and played a supporting role in James Mangold ‘s A Stolen Life , alongside Winona Ryder , Angelina Jolie , Jared Leto and Whoopi Goldberg . He had his first lead at the age of 32, in Perverse Karla . In this feature film based on real events, Misha lends his features to Paul Bernardo, rapist and killer of three little girls. Then again, between 2006 and 2008, the actor continued on the small screen: NCIS , Monk , Close to Home: Juste Cause , CSI: Manhattan …

Notoriety finally comes with his character of the angel Castiel in Supernatural , responsible for bringing Dean back from Hell. The public appreciates him to the point that the writers bring him back regularly from season 5. Castiel becomes a real ally for the Winchester brothers in their hunt for demons. In 2010, he played Jason Glaser, an unorthodox researcher in Stonehenge Apocalypse . Two years later, the thirty-year-old actively participated in the fantasy web series, Divine: The Series by lending his features to the young priest Christopher, who has lost faith in God.
