BIOGRAPHY
The youngest of five children in a blended family, British actor Matthew Goode first studied theatre at the University of Birmingham and at the Webber Douglas Academy of Drama in London. He began his career as an actor in television, in minor series and television movies broadcast on the BBC. In 2002, director Fernando Colomo offered him a role in the film Al Sur de Granada, which was his first cinematic experience.

Alongside his television career, Matthew Goode appeared in several feature films in the 2000s. He starred for Woody Allen in Match Point (2005), landed his first starring role in Julian Jarrold’s Brideshead Revisited (2008), reprising the role played by Jeremy Irons in the original 1980s miniseries. In 2009, the actor became Adrian Veidt, aka Ozymandias in the superhero film Watchmen, and then fell in love with Colin Firth in Tom Ford’s A Single Man.

He then finds a striking role in Stoker, that of a killer as seductive as he is ruthless, initiating his niece, Mia Wasikowska, into murder. This year also marks his return to the small screen, where he participated in various British projects before landing in the United States with The Good Wife. In the cinema, he immersed himself in Belle, the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, a young mixed-race woman, the illegitimate daughter of an admiral in the Royal Navy.

In 2014, Morten Tyldum called on him for his Imitation Game, a biopic on Alan Turing, a genius mathematician, played by the very fashionable Benedict Cumberbatch.
