Luke Kuechly is an American professional football player born April 20, 1991 in Cincinnati, Ohio as Luke August Kuechly. He entered the National Football League (NFL) after being selected by the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He previously played college football for Boston College, where he was twice recognized as an All-American Consensus.
Kuechly was named Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2012 and improved his game the following season and was named Defensive Player of the Year. In the 2015 season, he was the only defensive player among the ten best-selling jerseys in the NFL.
