Lindsay Gottlieb is an American basketball coach and famous personality. She currently works as an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Additionally, the coach has received Pac-12 Media Coach of the Year. She was also one of four finalists for Naismith’s National Trainer of the Year.
Additionally, she previously served as the ninth head coach for the California Golden Bears women’s team. From 2008 to 2011, she was a head coach at the University of California, Santa Barbara, leading the team to win the 2009 and 2011 regular season Big West championships. Lindsay Gottlieb: biography, family, career
The head coach was born Lindsay Catherine Gottlieb on October 2, 1977, in Scarsdale, New York, United States. She hasn’t shared much about her early years or her parents, but most of her family members are lawyers and her father served as a judge. But there is no information about her mother as she has three brothers. She has two sisters: Suzy and Chris Gottlieb and a brother Peter Gottlieb.
Regarding his education, he completed secondary education at Scarsdale High School. She then attended Ivy League college following the tradition of her parents attending and later joining Brown University. From a very young age she was passionate about sports. During high school, she began playing and organizing basketball. But in her senior year of high school, she spent on the sidelines with a torn ACL that made her look from a different perspective and consider coaching.
During his sophomore year, he spent a year studying in Australia after his mother’s death. It was the moment when she took seriously the decision to pursue her career as a coach. She returned to Brown University for her senior year in 1998-99 and became a student player and assistant coach. In 1999, she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the university.
Career:
After gaining experience in her college days, she went on to be an assistant coach hired by Syracuse University head coach Marianna Freeman. In college, she also did her master’s degree in philosophy of education. In 2001, she became an assistant coach with Sue Johnson at the University of New Hampshire. After that, she assisted head coach Joanne Boyle at the University of Richmond.
In 2008, she was named head coach at the University of California, Santa Barbara and served as an assistant coach until 2011. From 2011-2019, she worked for California, joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2019 to report as an assistant coach.
