Kelly Preston is an American actress, former model, active in Hollywood since 1980 and has starred in several television and film productions. Some of his notable pieces include Broken Bridges, Jerry Maguire, Battlefield Earth, Old Dogs, Twins, etc.

The popular actress we all know today Kelly Preston was born on October 13, 1962 to Kelly Kamalelehua Smith in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her father worked for an agricultural company before drowning while her mother was an administrator at a mental health center. After her father’s death, her mother remarried and her stepfather, Peter Palzis, adopted her and she adopted his name which she used until 1984. She attended Pembroke School Adelaide, the Punahou School, then the University of Southern California, where she graduated in theater and drama. Kelly has a half-brother named Chris Palzis.

Career

Kelly’s career as a model began at 16 when she was scouted by an Australian fashion photographer, who featured in adverts and also helped arrange her first film audition for a role in the 1980s The Blue Lagoon, unfortunately, she didn’t get the role she auditioned for.

Her first film role, however, came in 1985 where she portrayed Marilyn McCauley in the teenage film Fools. Since then, she has appeared in many other hit movies like the 1988 hit movie Twins, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. She played Avery Bishop in the 1996 film Jerry Maguire. She was Jane Aubrey in For the Love of the Game and also starred in Holy Man alongside Eddie Murphy. In 2000, Kelly starred in Battlefield Earth and the 2005 film Sky High. For her role in Battlefield Earth, Kelly received Worst Supporting Actress at the 21st Golden Raspberry Awards.

Although married to John Travolta, Kelly Preston was previously married to Kevin Gage from 1985 to 1987. After her marriage to Gage, she dated George Clooney and then Charlie Sheen, to whom she became engaged in 1990, but she fell was finally linked to Travolta in 1991.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston first met in 1987 while filming CSI back in 1987.
