Smith was born on January 15, 1969 in Chicago. She comes from a family of four. Her mother’s name is Honey Smith and she has a brother named Eric. Her father’s name is not known, but we do know that he is a Vietnam War veteran. Smith’s parents divorced in 1972 after her father returned from Vietnam. Kellita Smith grew up in Oakland, California, where she completed her high school and college education. After graduating, she worked in various jobs, including as a sales clerk in a department store and as an assistant at an insurance company.
