BIOGRAPHY
Of British origin, Kathryn Newton was born and raised as an only child in Orlando, Florida. She began her acting career at the age of 4 in the soap opera The Force of Destiny in the role of the young heiress Colby Chandler, from 2001 to 2004. After that, at the request of her parents, she made a break of several years to devote himself to his studies.

It was in 2008 that the young girl returned to the screen in the sitcom Gary’s New Life where she played Louise, the daughter of the protagonist Gary Brooks ( Jay Mohr ), during the 37 episodes that made up the series. Four years later, she took her first steps in the cinema for the fourth part of the horror saga Paranormal Activity , which allowed her to win the prize for best young actress in a leading role at the 34th Young Artists Awards . Subsequently, she found herself appearing in other films such as Bad Teacher alongside Cameron Diaz , or The Martial Kids with Don “The Dragon” Wilson . In 2017, Kathryn was in the cast of Lady Bird and Three Billboards Outside , both nominated at the 90th Academy Awards, before leading the blockbuster Pokémon Detective Pikachu in 2019. She starred there, opposite Ryan Reynolds , a courageous and determined young journalist.

In parallel with her career in the cinema, she continues to make a few appearances on television such as in Mad Men , Dog’s with a blog , Supernatural and notably in the HBO series, Big Little Lies , in which she plays the daughter of the character worn by Reese Witherspoon . In 2019, Kathryn returns at the helm of a new Netflix original creation, The Society , in the guise of Allie Pressman, a young high school student stuck in a deserted, dead-end town with her classmates.
