BIOGRAPHY
After a childhood shared between California and Arizona, Kate Walsh trained at the prestigious Piven Theater Workshop in Chicago. She performed in critically praised plays at the Shakespeare Repertory ( “Born Guilty” , “Moon Under Miami” and “Troilus and Cressida” , among others) and landed roles in two independent films, Normal Life in 1996 and Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer 2 in 1998.

The young woman then left for New York to study comedy and improvisation and obtained recurring roles in The Diary of a Married Man and The Drew Carey Show . In 2003, she appeared in the casting of Under the Tuscan Sun , where she played Sandra Oh ‘s girlfriend . This first big-budget film allowed him to follow up with other productions like Coup d’école , Kicking & Screaming , Inside Out and My Beloved Witch .

The long-awaited international fame did not arrive until 2005 when she played Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd in Grey’s Anatomy . Although she was only supposed to stay for a few episodes, the producers and the public were won over and her character immediately became regular. Two years later, Shonda Rhimes and ABC created a spin-off of the series, entitled Private Practice and centered on Addison Montgomery.
