Older sister of Meg Tilly .
Jennifer Tilly developed a passion for theater at an early age, which she studied at Belmont High School in Victoria, British Columbia. Based in Los Angeles, she performed on stage with the plays One shoe off by Tina Howe , which earned her a Theater World Award, Boy’s life and Tartuffe . She also won a Dramalogue Award for her performance in Vanities . At the same time, in the 80s, Jennifer Tilly appeared in the television series Captain Furillo , Remington Steele , and Clair de lune .
From then on, the Seventh Art became interested in her. It was in 1984 with No Small Affair , a comedy by Jerry Schatzberg , that she landed her first role in the cinema. From then on, she did not hesitate to play on her disturbing charm by playing a bisexual criminal in the thriller Bound by the Wachowski brothers . In 1997, she was nominated for the American Comedy Award for Best Supporting Actor for her portrayal of Samantha Cole, a pushy client of Jim Carrey , in the comedy Liar, Liar .
In addition to her numerous roles in small productions ( Godfather in spite of himself , Perfect Opposites ), the actress lends her voice to multiple animated characters.
