The actor was born in Manhattan, New York, but grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. As a child, Galaxy aspired to become a rock star and began playing guitar at the age of 10. Galaxy previously pursued a career as a rock musician, moving to Boulder, Colorado in 1992. But later in 2002, he went into private practice as a cat consultant, co-founding Little Big Cat Inc. with Dr. Jean Hofve, a holistic veterinarian at animal shelters. Two of them slowly began providing consultations to cat owners about the connection between physical and behavioral health. Later in 2007, he moved to Los Angeles and continued his private consulting practice. He began personally treating cats in their homes to improve cat behavior problems.
Currently, he serves on the Stray Cat Alliance and Fix Nation in Los Angeles, as well as the Neighborhood Cats Board of Advisors in New York City as a board of directors. Galaxy has appeared as the official cat behaviorist for the game show ‘Think Like a Cat’ and as the cat behavior expert on Animal Planet’s ‘Cats 101’.
