BIOGRAPHY
From an early age, the artist took acting classes at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and began acting in various British productions, notably in the Oscar Wilde biopic in 1997, where he played the poet John Gray , muse by the English novelist-playwright, alongside great personalities including Jude Law , Vanessa Redgrave and Tom Wilkinson . He then managed to land a small role as an officer in James Cameron ‘s cult romantic drama Titanic , before becoming the hero of the adventure series Hornblower . The young man then returns to a more literary register in the television film Great Expectations , adapted from the work of Charles Dickens , with Charlotte Rampling , and plays the romantic in the drama Solomon and Gaenor , which tells the story of an impossible love between an individual of Jewish faith and a Welsh woman at the beginning of the 20th century. In 2000, the actor participated in the sequel to Disney’s 101 Dalmatians , with Glenn Close and GĂ©rard Depardieu , and found Tom Wilkinson the following year in the thriller Another Life , about a woman accused of having murdered her husband. But Gruffudd also tries his hand at comedy in Annie-Mary madness! , on which he met Jonathan Pryce and Rachel Griffith s ( Six Feet Under ). He then joins the muscular team of The Fall of the Black Hawk directed by the great filmmaker Ridley Scott , which immerses the viewer in the middle of the battle of Mogadishu. The film is adapted from the novel by Mark Bowden , titled Black Hawk Down: A Story of Modern War . With this experience rich in adrenaline, the actor joins Christina Ricci in the horror thriller The Witnesses , which features a woman with amnesia following a road accident. He then continued with the sulphurous This Girl’s Life , with James Woods , and played Lancelot, one of the knights of the Round Table, in King Arthur by Antoine Fuqua ( Training Day ). Long expected to succeed Pierce Brosnan in the role of Agent 007, it is finally Daniel Craig

who was officially selected in October 2005 to wear the tuxedo of the attractive British hero. It was then that Gruffudd became Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, for the purposes of the film adaptation of the comic book Marvel’s Fantastic Four , with Jessica Alba as the Invisible Woman and Chris Evans as the Human Torch. The film was a commercial success and allowed the actor to become known to the general public. He then reprises his role two years later in the sequel. In order to reconnect with comedy, he shared the poster of The TV Set with David Duchovny , Agent Mulder from X-Files , and Sigourney Weaver (the Alien saga ). The plot revolves around the design of a series pilot for television. He is also William Wilberforce, a philanthropic British MP, in the biopic Amazing Grace which includes among others Albert Finney . The Welsh artist multiplies collaborations and offers his voice to Agent Crush in the eponymous animated film, then seizes another opportunity in a more dramatic register in Fireflies in the Garden , which brings together multiple personalities such as Willem Dafoe or Julia Roberts . In 2011, he played a small role in the hit comedy How to Kill Your Boss? , with the tenors of American humor Jason Bateman and Jason Sudeikis , and plays for a whole season, the husband of Sarah Michelle Gellar in Ringer , a CW show marking the return of the ex-Vampire Slayer Buffy to television. He then continued his momentum by appearing in a few episodes of popular American series: he lent his voice to a character in Griffin , played a rich philanthropic inventor in Castle and played a Broadway star in Glee .

The year 2014 allowed the British actor to return to the forefront by playing Doctor Henry Morgan, an immortal forensic pathologist, in Forever , a new release from the ABC channel. While waiting to find a cure for this gift which he considers a curse, he uses his know-how and experience by helping to solve criminal investigations.
