Although he only had one high school season in football, Gerald Everett was considered a player worth playing. He was hired by Hutchinson Community College, where he spent two years before joining the University of Alabama in 2014. Unfortunately, due to corruption allegations, the football program at UAB was shut down and Gerald, again, had to transfer to the University of South Alabama where he finally ended his college football career. The instability was not great for a career in the making, but luckily Gerald’s talent was able to stand out. At South Alabama, where he played for just two years before moving to the NFL, he recorded a game-high 49 receptions and four touchdowns for 717 yards.
