BIOGRAPHY
The actress, director and writer, Elvira Mínguez , was born on July 23, 1965 in Valladolid, Castilla y León, Spain. She began her career in theater by participating in plays such as “Romeo and Juliet” (1989), “The Green Cockatoo” (1990) and “The Hay Wagon” (1991). In 1993 she directed the adaptation of “Crimes of the Heart.” In 1994 she debuted on the big screen with the film Días contados by Paco Pino. Her performance earned her a Goya Award nomination for best new actress and a mention from the Actors’ Union. In 1995 she directed the short film El humodor de pipa although she soon returned to her role as an actress, participating in films such as La Buena Estrella (1997) and Lágrimas Negras (1998), that same year her first leading character would arrive in My Name is Sara (1998) . ).
