BIOGRAPHY
Don Johnson was interested in acting from a very young age: in high school, he was part of a theater program and graduated from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco a few years later. He then played in his first film, The Magic Garden of Stanley Sweetheart in 1970, before being selected for a few small roles in the cinema, but also on television in series like Kung Fu or The Streets of San Francisco .

Don Johnson still managed to obtain more substantial roles, such as in The Harrad Experiment (1973), where he played a young man in the midst of a sexual revolution, or in Apocalypse 2024 in 1975. But it was truly 1984 in the skin by Sonny Crockett, the undercover police officer in the series Two Cops in Miami , which the actor made known. Thanks to the success of this program, he won the Golden Globe for best actor.

The end of the series in 1990 allowed him to act under the direction of filmmakers like Dennis Hopper ( The Hot Spot in 1990) or Sidney Lumet ( The Devil’s Advocate in 1993). Johnson also starred alongside his then-wife, Melanie Griffith , in Paradise (1991). Rival of Kevin Costner in Tin Cup , the actor then returned to television from 1996 in the role of Inspector Nash Bridges . After 6 seasons of good and loyal service, Johnson is struggling to appear in major projects. He got the lead role in the series Just Legal in 2005 but it ended after 8 episodes.

The actor then left the United States for Europe and toured in Italy ( Torno a vivere da solo in 2008) as well as in Norway. Ironically or not, he returned to his native country to play in the comedy It Was in Rome (2010) by Mark Steven Johnson before being part of the cast of Machete , directed by Robert Rodriguez . After a short stint in the comedy series Kenny Powers , the actor starred in Django Unchained (2012), a post-modern spaghetti western by Quentin Tarantino .
