BIOGRAPHY
Born to an Irish mother and an American father, Daryl McCormack was educated at the Dublin Institute of Technology Conservatory and the Gaiety School of Acting. In 2014, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Drama. He then acted in several plays (Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, Othello, etc.).

McCormack found his first series role in 2015 in Fair City, a soap opera that follows the daily dramas of a community that lives and works in the fictional suburb of Carrigstown, north of Dublin. He plays a certain Pierce Devlin for 36 episodes.

Daryl McCormack has made a number of short appearances on the small screen, such as in Vikings, A Very English Scandal, Cleaning Up, Peaky Blinders and The Wheel of Time. In Bad Sisters, adapted from the Flemish series Clan created by Malin-Sarah Gozin, he found a more substantial role.

On the film side, he can be seen in the thrillers A Good Woman and Pixie, but especially in the comedy-drama My Dates with Leo. In the latter, he plays a young escort boy, Leo Grande, who is called upon by a retired teacher (played by Emma Thompson) after the death of her husband.

In the film’s press kit, Daryl McCormack explains: “Leo Grande really got me excited because he knows himself inside out and is in control of his own pleasure – it’s his superpower! He’s had his fair share of sexual humiliation, and he’s managed to get rid of it.”

The Irish comedian adds: “He uses his ability to express his emotions and his own sexual desires to allow others to discover theirs. Nancy was deprived of sexuality and pleasure and Leo discovered a vocation by allowing his clients to access it.”
