Darius Jackson Bio

This American footballer was born on December 1st in 1993. Jackson lived with his family in Garland, Texas until his seventh year when they moved to Sparta. He received his high school education at Sparta High School in Sparta, Illinois. At that time, he loved baseball and football and was on the football team. Darius was a two-way player as a senior – he played back, quarterback and safety, logging up to 1,100 rushing yards. On both sides of the ball, Darius received full conference honors.

When he graduated from high school, he continued to attend Eastern Michigan University after winning a scholarship. With few and insignificant accomplishments in his freshman year, Darius made a debut and appeared in 6 more games in his sophomore year, logging 201 rushing yards. As a junior, he rushed for 295 yards in the 12 games he played. The following year, he was promoted to full-time starter and had 1,078 rushing yards. School record holds that he also had 2 receiving touchdowns, 14 rushing touchdowns (16 total), and 21 receptions for 201 yards.

Darius Jackson’s professional career began in 2016 after the Dallas Cowboys owner made a magic phone call. He was selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft (in 2016). The star was 216th overall and was part of the 53-man Dallas Cowboys squad. As a child, Darius dreamed of playing for the Dallas Cowboys, the home team of Garland, a suburb of Dallas where he grew up. As such, being signed up by the Cowboys was definitely a dream come true for him, he was welcomed as Ezekiel Elliot’s replacement. His drafting came as no surprise to analysts, in fact, he was actually expected as he was truly a joy on his professional day. Darius only took 4,

As a rookie he had a good pre-season but after being inactive for 14 games he was waived on December 13 in a bid to accommodate Darren McFadden who was to be taken off the non-football injury list. The following day, Cleveland Browns removed him from the waiver and he was declared inactive for 3 consecutive games. In June 2017, it was reported that he had a very serious knee injury; because of this, he was waived again, but was cleared and placed on the injured list the following day. Darius Jackson had quite an interesting time with the Browns as he was waived again on May 3, 2018. As fate would have it, the Dallas Cowboys again called on Darius’ services before the end of the month.

As the 99th season of the National Football League is set to begin on September 6, 2018, and as all 32 teams battle it out for the ultimate Super Bowl championship, we hope Darius Jackson proves to his team twice that he’s truly worth it. Certainly, a debut will be a huge win for this American footballer as many of his fans have their fingers crossed waiting to see if he gets the chance he deserves to keep his promise and make his late brother proud.

His family

Darius Jackson’s parents are Sandra and TyroneJackson. He had a younger brother named Alex Price who sadly passed away at the age of 19 in 2015. Price passed away after a two-year battle with cancer. On his deathbed, Darius promised his brother that he would make sure he made it to the league for him. The running back told his late brother that he would nurture the bond they shared and make sure he got through it before he passed away. To this day, Darius says that has been his greatest driving force and what keeps him going even in times when he feels like giving up.
