Christopher Backus is known for both his professional and personal life. He is an American actor, filmmaker and screenwriter. Beyond his career, he is also known as the husband of the Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion actress, Mira Sorvino. The two notably married after being in a relationship for a short time.

Christopher Backus – biography

Christopher Paul Backus was born on October 30, 1981 in Mission Viejo, California. His father, Terry Backus, was a lawyer and his mother, Teryl Backus, was a colonel in the United States Marine Corps. Unfortunately, he lost his father when he was three years old. Christopher grew up in Kansas City, Kansas with his mother and sister Michele Backus.

However, there is no information about Backus’ educational background, but based on his past success in life, it is evident that he is a smart and talented man.

He was formed in Hollywood in 2004 shortly after moving to Los Angeles from New York. His first roles were in Will & Grace and Benjamin Splits. He has also starred in television shows such as Das OK, Life on Mars, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Sons of Anarchy, The Mentalist, and Perception, Imagination.

Christopher Backus improved his résumé and also starred in Redline, 3 Days Gone, Nick Vallelonga’s All-in-Nothing Personal and Elevator After making his mark, Backus played the role of a passionate lead singer of an indie rock band ENORM in 2008 (Not to be confused with the 2010 TV series ENORM starring Nikki Blonsky, Hayley Hasselhoff, Ari Stidham and Gina Torres, among others). Christopher also appeared in the four-hour Canadian miniseries The Last Templar.

In 2011, Backus appeared in the film Union Square, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, alongside Mira Sorvino, Patti Lupone, Tammy Blanchard, Mike Doyle and Michael Rispoli. He also accepted the challenge of playing German-American actress, singer, fashion icon and movie star Marlene Dietrich in My Beautiful Lidy.

Other projects he has been a part of include: Hard Breakers, Ezna Sands’ Theo, Yellow Stone, Elevator and Among Friends. Christopher Backus was on board to direct the sessionist, but left the project due to creative differences.

In August 2003, Christopher Backus met MiraSorvino at a mutual friend’s party, the couple dated for several months before tying the knot in the presence of their families and friends in a courthouse in Santa Barbara, California. They then headed to Capri, Italy for a rooftop ceremony.

Backus and his wife have four children, two boys and two girls, who are named Mattea – one daughter born November 3, 2004; Johnny – a son born on May 29, 2006; Holden – the second son and third child, born June 22, 2009; and Lucia – the youngest child and second daughter, who were born on May 3, 2012.
