The information contained in his file pertains to his professional life, beginning from his early days with his wife Elisabeth Sladen, who was a star on Doctor Who. The two moved to Liverpool after their time with Doctor Who. The couple then teamed up for a series of plays. They even portrayed husbands and wives on screen to great acclaim.

Miller played a few minor roles early in his career. He was only credited as “his husband’s friend” in Suburban Wives, a 1971 British sex comedy. In 1978 he had an uncredited role in The Big Sleep and the next year he appeared as Fred in Children of Summer, a Canadian drama film. He plays the role of Mr. Archibald Buttle in Terry Gilliam’s film. Brazil 1985 made him more popular and has remained one of his best projects to this day.

Other small roles credited to Brian Miller include playing Fishmonger in The Punk (1993), a partygoer in The Ghost of Greville Lodge (2000) and as a police officer in Number One, Yearning. Number Two, Regret (2004).

  • 1. He was only married once

On June 8, 1968, Brian Miller and actress,Elisabeth Sladen became husband and wife at a formal ceremony in Liverpool. The couple first met while Sladen was working on their first production at the local repertory theater in Liverpool, England.

The marriage between the Thespians lasted for many decades, until their death on April 19, 2011. The English actress was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer in February of the same year and was unable to fight it out. Her death sparked a media frenzy and an episode of Doctor Who (“The Impossible Astronaut”) was dedicated to her memory.

Brian has one daughter, actress Sadie Miller, from his marriage to Elizabeth.
