Sam Elliott is an American actor born on August 9, 1944 in Sacramento, California, the son of Henry Nelson Elliott and Glynn Mamie. Although Elliott’s parents originally came from El Paso, Texas, they had to move to Portland, Oregon when he was just a 13-year-old boy.
Sam Elliott graduated from ‘ David Douglas High School ‘ in 1962 and attended ‘University of Oregon’ later. There he majored in psychology and English for nearly two terms before finally dropping out. Then, near Vancouver, Washington, he went to Clark College to complete a two-year program from which he graduated in 1965.
Once again, he enrolled in the ‘University of Oregon’, but had to drop out a second time after his father’s death due to a heart attack when he was only 18 years old. After all of his minor and supporting roles, Elliott was finally cast in a lead role in the TV movie ‘Will Fight No More Forever’ as ‘Charles Wood’ in 1975. Also, from 1976-1977, he played ‘Sam Damon’ (Main Character) in a miniseries called ‘Once an Eagle’. During the same year, he also played ‘Rick Carlson’ in ‘Life Guard’.
