It was as Beverly Smith that the media personality was born on November 2, 1966, in Harlem, New York. She was raised in her hometown by her parents; Gus Smith and Geraldine Smith, alongside his siblings.

For her education, Smith went to New York University where she studied marketing. She began her career in 1989 when she worked as a media manager for Jeff McKay, Inc. until 1999. With a keen sense of fashion, her next job was as a fashion and beauty advertising manager. for Vibe Magazine from 1999 to 2005.

From 2004 to 2005, Bevy Smith worked for RollingStone Magazine as senior fashion advertising manager. She would return to Vibe Magazine in 2006 where she would work for a year as a wider fashion editor. From 2013 to 2015, she was co-host of Fashion Queens on Bravo. In 2015 she started hosting Bevelations on Radio Andy on Sirus/XM.

A woman with a strong business acumen, Bevy Smith began her entrepreneurial career with the launch of Dinner with Bevy in 2008. The dinner aims to connect its guests and customers with a focus on media, arts and fashion. In 2012, she started the mentorship program, Dinner with Bevy – Life With Vision.

With so much already achieved in her career that spans decades, she co-hosted the entertainment news show on Page Six TV in 2017.
