In 1987, while working with New York theater master William Esper, she sang in the chorus of Don’t Get God Started. Off-Broadway, or Stage Three, was founded by her and other students. When one of Stage Three’s plays screened in Los Angeles, she caught the attention of a casting director.

She appeared in six episodes of a television series as an oncologist from 1989 to 1991. Aliens Nation (1989), Matlock (1990), Party of Five (1996) and The King of Queens (1999) (2004) are some of the films that have been made.
