BIOGRAPHY
Born in Dublin in 1983, Aidan Turner graduated from the Gaiety School of Acting in 2004. He performed immediately after school in plays at the Abbey Theater in Dublin. He debuted on the small screen in 2007, with a brief, uncredited appearance in the first episode of The Tudors . Turner subsequently appeared in two short films and an Irish film, Alarm , before obtaining two recurring roles in the series Desperate Romantics and The Clinic , very popular in Ireland.

In 2009, Turner became one of the main characters in the BBC series Being Human . For three seasons, he played Mitchell, a vampire sharing a room with a werewolf and a ghost. In 2012, he was cast by Peter Jackson to play Kili, in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey , adaptation of JRR Tolkien ‘s novel and prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy .

He then participated in the first part of the new teen saga The Mortal Instruments: City of Darkness , before reprising his character of Kili for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and the last film of Bilbo’s adventures in Middle-earth, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies . In 2015, he played Captain Ross Poldark, in the BBC series Poldark , an adaptation of the historical novels by Winston Graham .
