2027 Presidency: Atiku Has Nothing To Offer Nigerians – Sowore

African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has criticized the presidential ambition of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Naija News reports that Sowore said Atiku, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, would not provide Nigerians with a new direction if elected.

The Human rights activist made the comment in a post on his verified 𝕏 account on Sunday as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the elections.

The AAC candidate questioned what Atiku could bring to the country after spending several decades within Nigeria’s political system.

He said that the former vice president has been involved in national politics since the 1980s and also served as vice president for eight years.

Sowore pointed to Atiku’s time in government under former President Olusegun Obasanjo, particularly the large amounts of money allocated to the power sector during that period.

According to him, despite the spending, millions of Nigerians continued to experience poor electricity supply

He wrote: “Atiku served as vice president for eight years during an era when enormous sums were poured into the power sector, yet millions of Nigerians remained trapped in darkness. After decades at the centre of Nigeria’s political system, what fundamentally different future is Atiku offering Nigerians today? Nothing! Nigeria does not need another recycling of the same political elite. We need a clean break from the system that produced poverty, corruption, insecurity and darkness.”
