2027: ‘I Will Defeat Gov. AbdulRazaq Before 1pm’ – Kwara Senator, Mustapha

The senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Saliu Mustapha, has expressed confidence about defeating Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in the 2027 election for the district’s Senate seat.

Naija News recalls that Mustapha recently dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and became the party’s senatorial candidate for the 2027 general elections.

He attributed his decision to leave the ruling party to inadequate consultation and Governor AbdulRazaq’s poor management of political interests within the APC.

During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Mustapha was asked whether he could defeat the governor in a contest for the Kwara Central senatorial seat, and the Senator said he would have secured victory hours before the final results were announced.

He said, “I would have won that election 12 o’clock before 1 o’clock, In Sha Allah, in the senatorial race. I will beat the governor because it will be one election that Nigerians will be waiting to see the result.”

Meanwhile, Mustapha has said former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, is reportedly backing President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid despite leading the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State.

According to Mustapha, Saraki is supporting the “Rainbow Coalition” working towards Tinubu’s re-election.

The Senator likened Saraki’s position to that of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, who remains a member of the PDP while serving in the Tinubu administration.
