Osun: Many People Collected Whopping ₦70 Billion APC Spent And Voted For Their Conscience – Melaye

African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Dino Melaye, has claimed that many Nigerians collected money from the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the just-concluded Osun governorship election but voted for the candidate of their choice.

Naija News reports that Melaye, in a post on his Facebook page on Monday, alleged that the APC spent ₦70 billion to procure 444,816 votes, plus rigging.

The former federal lawmaker also said Nigerians should learn lessons from the outcome of the Osun governorship election and act similarly during the 2027 general elections.

He said, “Nigerians must learn from Osun election where APC spent a whopping 70 billion naira only to procure 444,816 votes plus rigging.

“The implication is that more people collected APC money and voted for their conscience.

“2027, collect APC money and vote your conscience. APC till we meet again.” 

In other news, Melaye has accused three ex-officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of selling the opposition party to President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Melaye made the allegation during an interview on the Kaa Truths podcast.

Melaye said the former acting national chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagum, the party’s former national secretary, Samuel Anyawu, and the former organising secretary, Umar Bature, sold the party to Tinubu.

According to the former lawmaker, the trio worked to hand over the PDP to Tinubu before the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) organised the party’s ‘final funeral’.
