Nnadozie Stars As Brighton Set Up FA Cup Final Clash With Manchester City

Nigeria goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, delivered when it mattered as Brighton & Hove Albion Women roared back from two goals down to beat Liverpool Women 3-2 and reach the Women’s FA Cup final for the first time.

Brighton’s first semi-final since 1976 began badly. Denise O’Sullivan headed Liverpool in front before Beata Olsson doubled the lead inside 22 minutes.

Manuela Vanegas pulled one back before the break to ignite the comeback. After the restart, Madison Haley struck her fourth goal of the tournament to level the match.

Brighton pressed for a winner, with Kiko Seike testing goalkeeper Jennifer Falk. Liverpool almost snatched victory late on, but Nnadozie denied substitute Aurelie Csillag with a vital save.

The decisive moment came deep into stoppage time when Nadine Noordam smashed home to complete a famous turnaround. Brighton will now face Manchester City Women at Wembley Stadium on May 31.

City sealed their place after a dramatic comeback win over Chelsea Wome,n inspired by Khadija Shaw.

Chelsea appeared in control after goals from Sam Kerr and Erin Cuthbert left City trailing late on. Mary Fowler pulled one back with four minutes remaining before Shaw struck a stoppage-time equaliser.

The Jamaican completed the turnaround in extra time, heading the winner to send City through. Chelsea almost forced a reply when Sjoeke Nusken saw a header tipped onto the bar by goalkeeper Khiara Keating at Stamford Bridge.

The victory capped a remarkable week for City under Andree Jeglertz, fresh from sealing the Women’s Super League title.
