‘I Feel Sorry For Chelsea Fans’ – Says Pedro As The Blues Drop More Points In EPL

Chelsea forward, Joao Pedro, has expressed disappointment over the Blues’ 3-1 English Premier League (EPL) defeat to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Pedro, who scored Chelsea’s only goal of the game, said the players must take responsibility for the poor result.

The Brazilian admitted that the team’s performance was not good enough and said he felt sorry for the supporters who watched the defeat.

Naija News reports that Nottingham Forest secured an impressive away victory through a brace from Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi and another goal from Igor Jesus.

Awoniyi’s two goals put Forest in control of the encounter, while Igor Jesus added to Chelsea’s problems as the visitors claimed all three points in London.

Pedro gave Chelsea something to cheer with his goal, but it was not enough to rescue the Blues from defeat in front of their home fans.

Pedro Calls For Self-assessment

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Pedro said every member of the Chelsea squad must reflect on the performance.

“Everyone needs to have a look at themselves, me included,” he said.

The forward also expressed sympathy for the club’s supporters following the disappointing result.

“I feel sorry for the fans,” the Brazilian added.

Despite Chelsea’s defeat, Pedro’s goal against Nottingham Forest took his Premier League tally for the season to 15 goals for the club without penalties.

The milestone underlined his importance to the team’s attack, but the forward appeared more concerned about the team’s overall display and the disappointment suffered by supporters.

Chelsea will now turn their attention to their next Premier League fixture against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
