Benjamin Sesko Wins Manchester United’s February Player Of The Month Award

Manchester United have confirmed that Benjamin Sesko has claimed his first Player of the Month award since arriving at the club in the summer.

The announcement caps a sharp February for the Slovenian striker, who made a decisive impact despite not starting any of United’s four Premier League fixtures.

Benjamin Sesko scored in three matches. He netted winners against Fulham and Everton and snatched a dramatic late equaliser away at West Ham United. That stoppage-time effort also earned him the club’s Goal of the Month prize.

“It has been a terrific period for the striker, who has illustrated his finishing prowess and is clearly settling nicely into English top-flight football,” the club said in an official statement.

Sesko secured 61 per cent of the vote through the United App and ManUtd.com, finishing well clear in the poll.

Goalkeeper Senne Lammens, named Man of the Match at Hill Dickinson Stadium last Monday night, came second with 33 per cent. Defender Harry Maguire, praised for his consistency and dominance at the back, placed third with six per cent.

Sesko, United’s first Slovenian international, becomes the first recognised centre-forward to win the monthly award since Rasmus Hojlund in February 2024. Hojlund is currently on loan at Serie A side Napoli.

The Slovenian had finished third in September’s vote and now heads into March in a confident mood, with Crystal Palace due at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Sesko’s strike against Everton has also drawn praise from head coach Michael Carrick. United have not dazzled in their last two outings, but Carrick’s side have found a way to grind out results.

Against Everton, Sesko’s blistering pace proved decisive, sealing three points and a fifth win in six matches under Carrick.
