Mbappe Tops Champions League Scoring Charts After Group Stage, Vinícius, Olise Lead Assists Race

Real Madrid star, Kylian Mbappe has emerged as the leading scorer in the UEFA Champions League following the conclusion of the group stage.

The French forward has struck an impressive 13 goals across eight matches, putting him clear at the top of the scoring standings.

Mbappe added two more goals to his tally on Wednesday night, although his efforts could not prevent Madrid from falling to a 4-2 defeat against Benfica.

Harry Kane sits second on the list after another productive group-stage campaign with Bayern Munich. The England captain scored eight goals, including one in Bayern’s win over PSV, continuing his reputation as one of Europe’s most reliable finishers.

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland remains close behind with seven goals, while Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes of Newcastle United have also enjoyed strong showings.

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen both recorded six goals, highlighting the competition’s attacking depth this season.

Barcelona pair Marcus Rashford and Fermin Lopez are among several players tied on five goals, alongside Athletic Club’s Guruzeta and Paris Saint Germain midfielder Vitinha.

While the race for goals has drawn much attention, creativity has also taken centre stage. Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior and Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise currently lead the assists chart, each registering six assists during the group phase.

Both players have overtaken Marseille’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who have also played key roles in unlocking defences for their respective clubs.
