Champions League Matchday 7 Results: Arsenal Stay Perfect, Real Madrid Run Riot, Spurs Impress On Tuesday Night

Arsenal, Real Madrid, Sporting CP and Bodø/Glimt lit up Tuesday night as Matchday 7 of the UEFA Champions League delivered goals, drama and a major upset.

In Milan, Arsenal demonstrated their growing authority in Europe with a controlled 3-1 victory over Inter. Gabriel Jesus struck twice before the break to set the tone, his first Champions League goals since November 2023.

Inter briefly rallied through Petar Sučić, but the visitors held firm, David Raya producing key saves before substitute Viktor Gyökeres curled home late on to seal an eighth straight victory in the competition. It was another composed night for Mikel Arteta’s side, who continued to set the pace.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid produced a ruthless response to recent disappointment, sweeping Monaco aside 6-1 at the Bernabéu. Kylian Mbappé tormented his former club with two first-half goals as the hosts took control early.

After the half-time break, the pressure intensified even further. Franco Mastantuono, a Thilo Kehrer’s own goal and a stunning Vinícius Júnior finish stretched the lead before Jude Bellingham completed the rout. Monaco’s consolation from Jordan Teze did little to slow a rampant Madrid display.

The shock of the night came in Norway, where Bodø/Glimt outplayed Manchester City to claim a memorable 3-1 victory. Kasper Høgh struck twice in quick succession to punish early City pressure, both goals crafted by Ole Didrik Blomberg.

Jens Petter Hauge then sent the home crowd into raptures with a sublime strike just after half-time. Rayan Cherki pulled one back, but City’s task grew steeper when captain Rodri was dismissed, and Hauge came close to adding a fourth when his effort struck the bar.

Tottenham also enjoyed a productive evening in north London, beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 to boost their hopes of a top-eight finish. Cristian Romero opened the scoring by turning in Wilson Odobert’s cross.

Spurs took full control after Daniel Svensson saw red. Dominic Solanke marked his return from injury with a well-taken second, allowing the hosts to manage the game comfortably in the closing stages.

Sporting CP claimed a statement win of their own, beating Paris 2-1 in Lisbon.

The visitors dominated much of the game and had two goals ruled out, but Luis Suárez broke the deadlock late on. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia briefly restored parity with a curling strike, only for Suárez to head in a rebound and secure all three points for Sporting.

In other matches, Club Brugge eased past Kairat Almaty 4-1, Napoli were held 1-1 by ten-man Copenhagen, Olympiacos beat Leverkusen 2-0, and Ajax snatched a late 2-1 win away to Villarreal thanks to Oliver Edvardsen’s decisive finish.
