Manchester City Completes Signing Of Marc Guehi From Crystal Palace

Manchester City have completed the signing of Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi after reaching a full agreement for the England defender, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano confirmed the breakthrough on 16 January, revealing that Crystal Palace had accepted City’s official proposal, with the deal valued at around £20 million. The defender has also given the move his approval, clearing the final hurdle for the transfer.

“Marc Guehi to Manchester City, HERE WE GO!” Romano announced. “Official proposal accepted by Crystal Palace right now, understand the fee will be around £20m. Guehi has ACCEPTED a move to MCFC. Exclusive story, now confirmed.”

The move brings an end to weeks of speculation surrounding the future of the 25-year-old, who had entered the final months of his contract at Crystal Palace and attracted interest from several top sides across Europe.

City’s pursuit gathered momentum this month following defensive injuries, and the champions acted decisively to secure a player long admired for his composure, leadership and consistency at the highest level.

The defender leaves Selhurst Park after captaining Palace through one of the most successful periods in their recent history, including a memorable FA Cup final victory against City last season and a Community Shield triumph over Liverpool earlier this term.
