How Can APC Gov Fund Us? – ADC Rejects Claim AbdulRazaq Is Bankrolling Party

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kwara State has denied allegations that it is being sponsored by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Naija News understands that the allegation was made by a socio-political group, the Kwara North Development Commission, which accused the governor of covertly funding the ADC while publicly serving as the leader of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

However, speaking with Punch on Tuesday, a chieftain of the ADC in Kwara State and former Nigerian Ambassador to Japan, Prof. Isa Gana, said the claims were “a blatant lie.”

Gana, who is also a former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, said he was unaware of the existence of the group making the allegations.

“As a stakeholder in Kwara North Senatorial District, I am not even aware of any Kwara North Development Commission making these allegations against our party,” he said.

He questioned the logic of the claim, asking how a sitting APC governor could be funding a rival party seeking to dislodge his party from power.

“How will Governor AbdulRazaq be funding a party that is out to wrest power from his own party, the APC?” Gana queried.

He maintained that the ADC was independently mobilising across the state to offer Kwarans an alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections

“The ADC is seriously working to offer Kwarans a credible alternative in 2027, and we are not part of any arrangement with the state government,” he added.

Gana advised the KNDC to desist from what he described as unfounded allegations, insisting that the ADC was not being sponsored by Governor AbdulRazaq.
