Governor Uba Sani’s Ex-Campaign DG Quits APC, Joins ADC

The former Director-General of Governor Uba Sani’s 2023 Campaign Council in Kaduna State, Muhammad Bello, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress and joined the African Democratic Congress.

Naija News reports that Bello, who was a commissioner in Kaduna State until July last year, has also been appointed a member of the ADC committee reviewing the party’s constitution.

In a letter dated January 7 and addressed to the APC Chairman of Dogarawa Ward in Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Bello formally announced his exit from the ruling party.

“This is to let you know of my decision to withdraw my membership of the APC with immediate effect,” the letter read.

He added, “I wish to place on record my appreciation for the mutually beneficial relationship that we have shared during my membership of the party.”

Bello’s defection comes barely five months after he resigned from Governor Sani’s cabinet, amid a deepening political feud between the governor and his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai.

The former commissioner, who holds the traditional title of Mainan Zazzau, served first as Commissioner for Education and later as Commissioner for Information before stepping down in July 2025. He was subsequently replaced by Ahmed Maiyaki as Commissioner for Information.

Bello played a prominent role in Kaduna politics, having served as Director-General of Uba Sani’s successful 2023 governorship campaign
