Kylian Mbappe has surged to the top of the UEFA Champions League scoring chart after his sensational hat-trick in Real Madrid’s 5-0 demolition of Kairat Almaty on Wednesday night.
The France captain, who has made a blistering start to life in Madrid, now has five goals in the ongoing Champions League campaign. He had already netted twice in the Spanish giants’ 2-1 win over Marseille last month.
The 26-year-old sits one goal ahead of Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, who has four to his name after scoring in both of his side’s opening matches. Behind them, Frankfurt’s Jonathan Burkardt, Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland are all tied on three goals each.
Real Madrid’s strong start has put them level on six points with Bayern, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Arsenal and Qarabag, all of whom have won their first two group fixtures. Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City round out the top eight.
Elsewhere, English heavyweights Liverpool and Chelsea are struggling to find their rhythm, sitting in 17th and 18th place respectively, while Barcelona have also endured a slow start and is down in 16th. At the foot of the table, Athletic Bilbao, Ajax and Kairat Almaty occupy the bottom three spots.
Below are the top five goal scorers in the 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League:
Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) – 5 goals
Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) – 4 goals
Jonathan Burkardt (Frankfurt) – 3 goals
Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United) – 3 goals
Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – 3 goals
