Price Of Bag Of Dangote, BUA, Other Cement This Week
The price of cement in Nigeria has continued to soar, with a 50kg bag averaging ₦8,800 nationwide and hitting as high as ₦10,000 in some states over the last six to eight months.
The persistent price hike has drawn widespread concerns, prompting the House of Representatives to summon major cement manufacturers, including Dangote and BUA, earlier this year to address the issue.
The manufacturers faced allegations of exploiting exchange rate volatility, corruption, abuse of power, and manipulating the economy to sustain the high prices.
Despite these accusations and discussions with lawmakers, cement prices remain unaffordable for many Nigerians.
The situation has severely impacted individual homebuilders, who are struggling to finance construction projects.
Efforts by lawmakers to intervene have so far failed to yield tangible results, with the high cost of cement continuing to burden citizens and the construction industry.
Here are the prices of major producers of cement this week:
Price Of Dangote Cement
The current price of Dangote cement stands at ₦8,650 per 50kg bag, depending on the location.
Price Of BUA Cement
The retail price of BUA cement in Nigeria sells for ₦7,000
Price Of POP Cement
Pop White Cement or Plaster Cement – ₦10,300
