Super Eagles Of Nigeria Suffer Flight Delay In Abidjan
The Super Eagles of Nigeria experienced an unexpected delay during their return journey from Abidjan on Friday, which set back their travel plans to Uyo by a few hours.
Note that the Super Eagles of Nigeria, under the guidance of head coach Augustine Eguavoen, had just faced the Benin Republic in an intense match held at the Felix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium on Thursday night, November 14.
In a hard-fought encounter, the three-time African champions managed to secure a 1-1 draw against their hosts, showcasing their determination and resilience on the pitch.
Originally, the Super Eagles were scheduled to depart Abidjan at 9:00 AM local time, allowing them to return home promptly.
However, due to changes in their travel arrangements, the players found themselves waiting longer than anticipated. Following their arrival in Lagos, the contingent will then continue their journey to Uyo, where they will be preparing for their upcoming match.
To rest and recover from their recent exertions, the Super Eagles players will forgo training sessions today.
Their next challenge is against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo next Monday. Unlike Rwanda who need to win the game to stand a chance of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON, the outcome of the match is irrelevant to the Super Eagles as they have already booked themselves a place in the tournament.
