Ademola Lookman To Contend With Messi, Ronaldo For 2024 Globe Soccer Awards
Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman has received a nomination for the 2024 Best Men’s Player award, a prestigious recognition within the annual Globe Soccer Awards organized by the Dubai Sports Council.
The announcement was made on Thursday via X, highlighting Ademola Lookman’s impressive performance with Atalanta in Serie A.
Lookman joined an exceptional roster of footballing icons, which includes Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland.
The nominee list showcases a balanced mix of seasoned professionals and promising newcomers from top European leagues. Representing the English football legacy are Phil Foden from Manchester City, Jude Bellingham from Real Madrid, and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.
Notably, both Messi and Ronaldo have made it to the shortlist once again, illustrating their continued excellence as they navigate the later stages of their illustrious careers.
Other contenders include Bundesliga’s Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané, and Arsenal’s star Bukayo Saka. Additionally, Barcelona’s exciting new talent, Lamine Yamal, has been recognized among the nominees.
From La Liga, players such as Federico Valverde, Vinícius Júnior, and Alejandro Grimaldo have also been nominated for their remarkable contributions.
The Globe Soccer Awards said, “The nominees with the highest number of votes will form the shortlist of finalists in this category.”
Note that the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards is in the 15th edition and the ceremony will take place on December 27th. It will coincide with the 19th Dubai International Sports Conference, in partnership with the @DubaiSC Sports Council.
