Victor Osimhen Scores Twice For Galatasaray Again, Celebrates Icardi
Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen showcased his goalscoring prowess once again, scoring two goals in Galatasaray’s exciting 3-2 victory against Samsunspor on Sunday.
This performance follows Victor Osimhen’s previous impressive outing where he also netted a brace in the team’s 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
In the league game earlier today, Osimhen opened the scoring for Galatasaray with a brilliant header just three minutes into the match.
Although the visitors equalized through Cameroonian midfielder Olivier Ntcham, who converted a penalty five minutes into the second half, Osimhen quickly restored Galatasaray’s lead with another well-placed header just five minutes later.
With this latest effort, the Nigerian international has now tallied eight goals and four assists in nine appearances for head coach Okan Buruk’s squad.
Substitute Michy Batshuayi capped off the scoring for Galatasaray five minutes before the end of regular time. Despite a late goal from Youssef Bennasser in stoppage time for Samsunspor, Galatasaray secured the win.
In a heartwarming moment during the match, Osimhen held up a shirt for his injured teammate Mauro Icardi after scoring the first goal. He also mimicked Icardi’s signature goal celebration, a touching gesture that expressed his support for the Argentine, who is currently sidelined for the rest of the season.
Icardi, watching from the stands, was visibly moved and applauded Osimhen’s thoughtful gesture.
