A member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan South West Constituency II, Oluwafowokanmi Oluwafemi Adebayo, has claimed to have received a divine call to prepare for a Senate bid.

Naija News reports that Adebayo made this known during a church service, stating that his decision is based on God’s direct instruction.

The lawmaker expressed optimism about expanding his political horizon and his desire to serve the people of Oyo State in the Senate.

He said, “When I completed my second term, I told them I wouldn’t run for a third. I was waiting for God to speak to me. Now, God is telling me to prepare for the Senate.

“But I couldn’t say it out loud because it felt as heavy as heaven and earth. If I said it, people might think I’m crazy—how could I become a senator in Ibadan? But that’s how God works.

“Today, I want to show my gratitude to God. Ten percent of three million is three hundred thousand, and I will give that to God right here.

“I have started sowing seeds for that Senate position, acknowledging that I am not capable of achieving it on my own. It is only God who can make it happen. This is the first time I am publicly saying that God told me to go for the Senate. It feels as heavy as heaven and earth to me, but with God, everything is possible.”
