Timi Frank Alleges Plot To Remove Rivers Governor Fubara
A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has alleged a plot to remove Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, linking recent court rulings and security actions to an effort to force the governor to join the APC or face removal.
Frank condemned the recent Federal High Court decision to freeze Rivers State’s monthly allocations, describing it as a move designed to pressure Fubara into compliance.
According to Frank, the court’s ruling is part of a “scripted strategy” aimed at destabilizing the governor’s administration.
“The President’s silence over these moves suggests implicit support,” Frank stated, accusing federal institutions and security agencies of aligning against Fubara.
He claimed these actions were orchestrated to pressure the governor into submitting to the federal government’s agenda or risk being ousted.
Warning of potential unrest, Frank cautioned that interference in Rivers State’s administration or funds could spark significant resistance from the region.
“Any unlawful action targeting Rivers State will face strong resistance from its people and the entire Niger Delta,” he said, suggesting that such resistance could lead to nationwide consequences.
He urged Governor Fubara to stay resolute in defending the state, assuring that the people of Rivers stand behind him.
He further called on the international community to monitor the situation closely, noting that stability in the Niger Delta is critical for both local residents and international oil operations in the region.
