Super Eagles' Chukwueze Picks Hamstring Injury, To Miss AC Milan Matches - Club Reports

Super Eagles of Nigeria winger, Samuel Chukwueze is considering a move away from AC Milan in the upcoming January transfer window.

Samuel Chukwueze, who joined Milan from Villarreal in a deal worth €20 million plus bonuses, has struggled to find his form since arriving at the San Siro.

Despite being the most expensive signing during the 2023 summer transfer window for Milan, Chukwueze has failed to make a significant impact, making only 39 appearances and scoring three goals for the Rossoneri.

His limited playing time and lack of consistent performance have prompted Milan manager Paulo Fonseca to suggest that Chukwueze seek opportunities elsewhere, according to the Italian website, Les-transferts.

Fonseca highlighted that Chukwueze had shown promise during preseason but has struggled to replicate that form in Serie A matches, attributing it to a lack of confidence. As a result, the 25-year-old has only played 175 minutes out of a possible 540 across six Serie A games this season.

Reports suggest that Atletico Madrid, as well as Premier League clubs West Ham and Aston Villa, are interested in acquiring Samuel Chukwueze’s services. With his contract set to expire in June 2028, there is speculation that Chukwueze could be available for transfer in the upcoming window, with a potential return to Spain being a possibility.

It is estimated that his value in the transfer market is around €20 million, which is a good bargain for his suitors.
